About Julia
​Julia Shepherd Tang is a writer, educator, and longtime meditation teacher based in California. First introduced to meditation in 1999 through the Art of Living Foundation, she experienced a life-changing shift that inspired her to begin teaching in 2001. Since then, she has guided thousands of students on the path to greater peace, clarity, and joy.
A graduate of Harvard University and a faculty member at Stanford, Julia integrates scientific insight with timeless wisdom to make meditation accessible and meaningful in daily life. Her approach is grounded, compassionate, and deeply human—meeting people where they are and helping them discover what lies within.Whether through her teaching, writing, or retreats, Julia’s mission is to help others connect with a quieter mind, an open heart, and the strength that comes from within.
